Yogananda Knowledge Centre

Knowledge is key to the personal growth of an individual, which in turn paves way for a successful and fulfilling life. Yogananda Knowledge Centre (YKC) at Shoolini University brings the best learning to its students and faculty members. It includes various centres, facilities and platforms that are unique, aesthetically beautiful and provide an abundance of knowledge in both physical and online mode.

The award-winning Yogananda Library (five-storied) is an architectural marvel. It is an esthetically designed energy-efficient building in the region. It was featured on the cover of ‘Roof and Façade Asia for its design based on the concept of looking inwards.

This one-of-a-kind EBSCO Online library has over one million publications. With state-of-the-art technology, the library enables 24x7 learning. It has on its shelves 40,000+ hard copy books for the use of students and faculty members, 1000 e-journals, more than 2 lakh e-books and various other resources for Engineering, Management, Law, etc. YKC has also subscribed to the EBSCO database, which provides access to all the resources available through EBSCO subscriptions. These are available in a full downloadable format without any restrictions.

Delnet, in addition to EBSCO, also provides access to research journals. The thesis and research papers of PhD and MPhil students are available both in the printed and electronic form and are available to students and members. The Analytics is also housed in the library where we have subscribed to IBM SPSS software to meet the data analysis needs of the students and faculty members. YKC is fully automated and most of its resources can be accessed through the YKC website http://library.shooliniuniversity.com/. Books may be issued and returned through the LMS. The building hosts a faculty club and terrace lawns as well.

FUTURE PLANS

  • To introduce more resources to the YKC.
  • To further strengthen EBSCO by subscribing to more resources.
  • To involve students in activities of YKC on a payment basis.
  • To generate a repository of research publications.
  • To extend YKC facilities to residents of Solan and adjoining areas, including schools and other educational institutes of the region.
  • The library is now equipped with the latest laptops and amazon kindle devices which can be used by the staff, faculty, and students.
  • To introduce children’s section in the library.
  • Every month one member of the library will be given a certain amount of money to buy books of his own choice. So along with the subjects’ book, there will be books of all genres.
  • All the books will have plastic covers to save the original covers.
  • Books can be donated from anywhere across the country. Distance doesn’t matter. The university will collect them anywhere in India.
The fabulously innovative eStudios at Shoolini University add to the aesthetics of the campus and provide a hi-tech and unique learning experience. Equipped with technological advancements like high-speed Internet, Ethernet, whiteboards, lightboards for seamless online lectures, these beautifully designed eco-friendly log huts have taken online education to the next level.

A total of 50 eStudios are being built on the campus, creating the future of education. Shoolini University ranks no.1 among India’s Top 10 private higher education institutions for Excellence in IT-Enabled Learning in the Education World India Higher Education Grand Jury Awards 2020-21.
